2nd Annual Run the Flood

Courses
Run the Flood has 2 courses, a 7 mile course and 2.5 mile course.
Both routes start at 9AM on 3rd Ave SE and the railroad tracks (between 3rd & 5th St SE). Both routes share the same finish line on 4th Ave SE and 5th St SE.
Participants can choose to walk or run the 7 mile or 2.5 mile course; however, only the 7 mile is timed. The rules are different for the 7 mile and 2.5 mile course, so please consult the rules section for more detailed information.
Rules of the Road
2.5 Mile Route – Participants of the 2.5 mile run/walk shall use the sidewalks.
1) This route has several volunteer cross guards along the route to help facilitate participant safety.
2) There will be police officer controlled intersections at major intersections (8th Ave SE/SW).
3) Participants shall obey traffic signals, unless directed otherwise by an officer.
4) Participants are ALWAYS ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE STREET
7 Mile Route
1) This route has dozens of volunteer cross guards along the route to help facilitate participant safety.
2) There will be several intersections that are closed by police officers
3) There will be a lead police car and a tail police car following the largest pack of participants.
Note: if you are outside the police office tail car, it is recommended that you be on the sidewalk where ever possible.
